West Texas Eye Associates has a unique opportunity for a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our fabulous team in Lubbock, Texas.  The team includes 7 Surgeons, 2 optometrists, CRNA, and dedicated technicians, scribes, and front office staff that treat a wide variety of eye disease including corneal disorders, diabetic eye diseases, cataracts, LASIK, and glaucoma in our very own ambulatory surgical center. 

 

This position is Monday - Friday, 8:00 – 5:00, with no call, evenings, weekends, or holidays!

At West Texas Eye Associates, our goal is to help our communities stay healthy and happy.  Serving Lubbock and Midland, TX, our team of experts can help with vision care, eye surgery, aesthetic treatments, and more.  Our facility offers a wide variety of services: we offer routine eye exams, LASIK, pediatric ophthalmology, and more. Our eye doctors are trained to treat conditions like corneal diseases, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and refractive errors, like myopia.

Responsibilities

  • Functions as a member of the operating room team
  • Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner
  • Provides information and emotional support to patients and their families
  • Formulates an appropriate and safe anesthetic care plan for each patient utilizing the history, physical, laboratory data, discussion with patient and any source of information that will aid in its development
  • Provides anesthesia care utilizing one or more of the following techniques:  peribulbar, retro-bulbar, topical, local infiltration, intravenous sedation and/or analgesia
  • If appropriate, management of or assisting the physician and staff in the management of any clinical emergency in the surgery suite or eye clinic
  • Participates in planning for peri-operative patient care with physicians and nursing staff
  • Maintains accurate and complete records of each patient’s anesthesia
  • Alerts the team member responsible for restocking anesthesia supplies when items are needed
  • Remains on the premises until the patient has been discharged from the recovery area of the ASC
