Overview

AVP is a rapidly growing specialized life science/healthcare firm based out of Tempe, AZ that is owned by a well-respected and capitalized Private Equity firm. We operate across the Western United States and are continuously growing through acquisition. Our specialization includes: private practices, surgery centers, and diagnostic & therapy clinics. Responsibilities

  • This position involves interaction at the highest levels of the company and is a key driver to the growth and strategy of the business
  • Assist in researching market characteristics and trends, complete competitor analysis, gather and organize market intelligence data and reports, conduct analytical reviews, assist in the qualification of business development opportunities, due diligence activities and integration activities
  • Perform financial due diligence on M&A targets; inputs critical to verifying initial valuation expectations
  • Build operational financial models for acquisition targets; and perform financial analysis/develop KPIs and synergy modeling
  • Assist with presentations to investment committee of the board of directors
  • Serve as a “thought-partner” to members of executive management in the due diligence process
  • Assist with managing third-party advisors throughout the diligence process
  • Project manage acquisition opportunities throughout all phases of the process (sourcing, valuation, negotiation, diligence and integration)
  • Act as “bridge” between business development and all other functions across the organization
  • Assist with the integration of acquisitions, including coordination with leaders across the enterprise to assess integration opportunities and track overall progress
  • Identify and assist with inorganic and organic opportunities to accelerate strategy or fill gaps; develop business cases in partnership with internal stakeholders and assist with the execution of highly complex business development transactions
  • Participate in broad, multi-functional matrixed teams that are assembled to work on specific transactions and projects
  • Utilize strong analytical, conceptual and creative thinking, with ability to develop business insights and hypotheses
  • Assist other departments as requested with non-business development related analysis

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of investment banking, transaction advisory, accounting or corporate/business development experience
  • BS/BA in Finance, Business, or related field required. Advance degree or CPA/CFA license is a plus
  • Exceptional finance and analytical skills
  • Excellent MS Excel skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of valuation methodologies, DCF, data mining & analysis 
  • Ability to handle multiple, complex and competing priorities and projects, with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and make appropriate, independent decisions in a timely manner
  • Ability to create, implement and manage action plans with very tight timelines
  • Strong people/communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to build quick rapport/trust of senior management
  • Must possess strong initiative and take ultimate ownership of work
  • Able to travel as needed
