Overview

As a Senior Benefits Specialist, you are responsible for the day-to-day administration of benefits and point of contact for employee and vendor questions.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and administers organizational benefits programs and handles the most complex issues
  • Leads employees in understanding organizational benefits offerings and acts as a liaison between the organization and third-party vendors
  • Coordinates and conducts orientations and enrollment meetings, advises on eligibility, costs and coverage, and provides information to use in communications and presentations
  • Completes monthly invoice reconciliations with complex Excel formulas (V-Lookup, etc.)
  • Owns and manages the Benefits email inbox daily and responds with resolutions
  • Serves as Point of Contact for payroll questions and complex benefit questions
  • Performs work with a high level of latitude and with little to no managerial input
  • Possesses expert knowledge of benefit plans and applicable vendors
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and mentoring to benefits group and benefit specialists
  • Collaborates with People Services and all other departments on benefit questions and resolutions
  • Performs other duties as required and assigned

Qualifications

  • REQUIRED:  High School Diploma, Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • REQUIRED:  6 years benefits administration experience
  • High level of intelligence and aptitude, outstanding interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Able to communicate in a professional and proficient manner with vendors and employees
  • Strong analytical and evaluative skills
  • Advanced in the use of computer programs, databases, and Internet research
  • Self-disciplined, self-motivated, and results-oriented
  • Able to assume substantial responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • Able to exercise discretion and independent judgment
  • Must work well in high-pressure situations and a dynamic work environment
